Family Vacations
Wednesday, February 16th, 2011
One of the best parts about running the river is the opportunity to see families come and be a part of the adventure. For several of the people who join us this is their first time to really experience nature up close and personal and for many that experience is profound. Our trips give families an opportunity to disconnect from cell phones, e-mail, ipods, tv, etc. and connect with each other as you run thrilling rapids, hike to stunning waterfalls, get into water fights on the raft, or just hang out at camp. For us it is a privilege to watch as new bonds are formed and memories that will last a life time are made. Come join us on a trip in the Grand Canyon, Cataract Canyon, or on the Salmon River to see for yourself why our trips are a perfect family vacation.

What sets Tour West apart?
Tuesday, January 25th, 2011
As we talk to people who are in the beginning stages of choosing which river trip they want to take one of the questions we are often asked is, “What makes Tour West different from all the other rafting companies out there?” While we could mention many things from the quality of the equipment we provide to the design of our rafts we feel that the thing that makes Tour West truly different is the quality of guides we have working for us. The Tour West guides are knowledgeable, professional, and safe. On average our guides have 15 + years experience running rivers in the Grand Canyon, Cataract Canyon and on the Salmon. We have full confidence that not only will our guides safely navigate you through the rapids but along the way they will share the history and lore of river, lead you on hikes to breathtaking spots, and prepare you some of the tastiest meals you have ever eaten. The number one piece of feedback we get from those who have rafted with us is that the guides provided them with an experience that not only met their expectations but exceeded them and for this reason we are sure we have the best in the business working for us here at Tour West.

Main Salmon Rafting Manager Jason
Monday, January 24th, 2011
This is a picture of Jason our river manager. He took his first river trip on the Main Salmon when he was eight years old. It snowed on that trip and he still loved it. He has been running the Grand Canyon since he was 14 years old. He ran his first guide trips when he was 18 on the Grand. He is training the next generation of river guides as you can see in this picture of his family.

Home Away From Home
Monday, October 25th, 2010
This is a picture of your home-away-from-home while traveling on the Salmon River. Looks like someone was settling in for a cozy night of sleep.

Alone at night
and all is right.
A moment to reflect
in soft firelight.
Then gaze upon
the midnight sky.
While the river
sings a soft lullaby.

Friday, October 15th, 2010
Here are pictures of our guides cooking the yummy steaks they served on one of our August Salmon River trips. These pictures were also taken by Joe Bennion, one of our great guides that run the Grand Canyon, Cataract Canyon, and Salmon River. The guides in the picture are Jason and Bryan. They are cousins and amazing boatmen. Jason is our river manager so if you ever have questions about any of our trips call our office and ask for him.
