Little Colorado

Wednesday, August 15th, 2012

On river mile 62 you will stop at the Little Colorado.  It is the greatest place to swim.  The water is just swift enough to give you a thrill as you float down stream.  Little Colorado will be one of the most fun days on your Grand Canyon Trip.

This is Redwall Cavern. It is a large cave carved out of sandstone.  You find it on our six night Grand Canyon trip at mile 33.  It is one of the amazing places we stop.  John Wesley Powell wrote that 50,000 people could fit in there.  I doubt that could happen, but it has a sandy beach floor and is a fun place to throw a football and play surrounded by it’s amazing beauty.

Grand Canyon rafting essentials!

Use sunscreen on the river so you don’t have to use this wonderful restoring cream and take aspirin to sleep. Most people use it-but don’t forget to reapply after swimming.  Especially don’t forget to sunscreen your feet!

Grand Canyon bags

Friday, August 3rd, 2012

I am posting a picture of the duffel bags we use on the river.  The day bag is sitting on top of the large bag we give you that is packed away during the day.  The day bag  you will have clipped on the boat, somewhere ,so you  have access to it.  Hope this visual will help when your packing for the river.  Our warehouse manager, Dave, had a hard time keeping his feet out of the picture.
