Grand Canyon National Park Service Meetings

Monday, October 29th, 2012

Once a year we get to meet with the Grand Canyon National Park Service on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  Is a treat for us.  The cute Google cars were there mapping some of the hiking trails.  They will not be on Google Earth for a few months, but when they are up we can all take a virtual hike in the Grand Canyon.   Here is a picture of the cars.  NBC did a report on their evening news.  They showed a picture of the camera the hikers used to film.  They just put a backpack that held a mount and a ball with 15 cameras all around it filming all at once.  We are excited to look at the end result.

Grand Canyon Rafting and Food

There is lots of work packing the food for a motor trip. Here is a picture of our guides on a motor trip in August packing food.  They are great cooks and we all love the food on the river!

The river portion of the Grand Canyon 6,8, and 12 day trips begins at Lees Ferry.  Here is a two boat trip getting ready to launch on its journey down the Grand Canyon.

Grand Canyon river trips beginning and end.

Monday, October 1st, 2012

Our last trips are all launched on the river.  They are all longer oar powered trips. We will be off the river for the year in about two weeks.  Here is a picture of our warehouse.  This is where we spend the winter cleaning, patching, painting, purchasing, and everything else.  We love our warehouse, but it can be an adjustment for all of us to move from the river to the confinement of the warehouse or the office.
